Yep, its been a while since I last posted. So, what I'm not going to do is try and fill in the writing hiatus with "updates." What I am going to do is say, "GREAT GOODNESS."

Tomorrow is the beginning of Serenity Church and can I just say, "WOW!" What tremendous anticipation. I have no idea what is really going to take place at 7:00, Saturday Night. I have a clouded expectation, but have no real idea. The one thing I do know: it won't be what I envision. Nothing ever is. I'm trying to take a friend's approach and expect nothing more than what I'd get from watching grass grow; anything else will be lagniappe (as they say in Louisiana). Make no mistake, I know the small part I'm going to play in this funky thing - I'm going to be as big a public fool for God as I can be...which means I'm "preaching."

For two weeks I've been bombarded with thoughts and feelings ranging from placidity to whirlwinds. If this godly movement is anything like we think it will be, The Lord is about to do a great thing in the North Dallas Area.

I'll let you know what happens. Until then I'll leave you with a blessing Brendon Manning shares from his spiritual director, Larry Hine.
"May all your expectations be frustrated, may all your plans be thwarted, may all your desires be withered into nothingness, that you may experience the powerlessness and poverty of a child; and sing and dance in the love of God, who is Father, Son, and Spirit."
