'eck hem

It sounds something like that. That scratchy noise you make in your throat just before you part your lips, open your mouth wide, and give the world a rare gem of wisdom. That, oh so eruditious pearl or that tear provoking story will brighten their faces, warm their hearts, or make them better humans, just because it came from you. (I think that, and you do too so don't kid yourself.)

So, 'eck hem.
*I'm gearing up to write the second part of "Stepping Up." I've had some remarks about the first part being "so revealing" (much of what I write falls in this category). It is hard to put yourself out there for others to examine and scrutinize. And this portion of my life has additional challenges, so emotionally-raw is a state I live in. Thus, it takes a while to build up courage (more like stupidity - and that part is abundant around here) to expose weakness over and over.

*If you haven't seen The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe yet, make a point to. Yes, almost everyone knows the story. That's not the point. (I know how the Gospel of Mark ends but that doesn't keep me from reading it quite often.) As a matter of fact, there were a few times during the film where knowing how the story played out was tremendously powerful. It was the portrayal of sacrificial love, long before the Stone Table, that moved me to tears. Plus, the White Witch is stunning. She is one "bad chick" but really pretty. Just goes to prove that both goodness and evil can appear beautiful.

*I really want to see the new King Kong. I want to see a ginormous gorillia running rampant through a lush jungle and then see him destroy a concrete one. Yee ha! Now that's a good time. What does that say about me? Probably that my "inner child" is more like George of the Jungle, Curious George, or even the boxing George Foreman, than anything else. I'm a wildman...and the congregation said, "Amen."
